Graduation Speech

It is sad to know that we are all moving to high school and leaving the Golf Middle School. It's sad to leave all of our teachers here at Golf and it's especially sad to leave the teachers that also teach us when we were in 7th grade. We are all family here at Golf, and we are like moving to a new family at Niles North. Teachers and students here at Golf are the nicest people you will ever get to know, teachers here would want to help you understand the material in order for you achieved your goals in life.
My favorite memory of Golf would be going to Camp McClain last year in 7th grade. We got to stay overnight at a cabin and we got to spend two full days with your friends and do fun activities the whole day. Then in our cabin we would tell a scary stories and jokes up to like 2 am in the morning!
I would also want to thank the PTA staffs for making fun activities for us in 8th grade, such as the 8th grade play, graduation party, and for everything they had done for us in the past.
Also, it's sad to end like this, but there's a new beginning. I'm excited for high school hockey and tennis. We also get to meet people and make new friends from Old Orchard, McCracken,  and East Prairie. Here's a quote from Orrin Hatch saying, " There is a good reason they call these ceremonies " commencement exercises" Graduation is not the end; it's the beginning." This quote means that even though we are graduating and leaving Golf, we are going to Niles North for a new beginning and a fresh start where we have to get ready for college and get a good job for the future.
In conclusion, I will miss everybody at Golf and I appreciate for what all the teachers have done for us for the past four years. Thank you.

How NOT to prepare for a test

This is how NOT to prepare for a test. You're on your phone watching soccer highlights game for the whole night and pull an all nighter. Then you were too into your movie or video that you forgot about school! Then you ran as fast as you can to school and hopefully not get tardy, but you arrive thirty minutes late. Oh that's you're fourth tardy. The secretary then gives you a detention slip and that you have to stay after school for an hour. Then, all of a sudden you come into class and everyone is taking a test. Oh shoot! You totally forgot to study! Oh well. So now you have to take a test that you're not prepared for and you have to tell your parent's why you got a detention and why did you go to school thirty minutes late. So that's how NOT to prepare for a test.

Endings and Beginnings

Five seconds left, four, three, two, one, We won the division title! Did it just happen?! We beat the number six seed in the playoffs and we won the championship! Everybody started to hop the bench and we all threw our helmets, mouth guards, gloves, and sticks on the ice and we started to skate to our goalie and we were all on top of one another. We can't believe that we won the championship. We played three tournaments in the past and we always made it to the championship game, but we always came in second. Not this time!
After we celebrated for about ten minutes, our coach told us to get in tight. He started to cry and said," I have never won a championship on a travel team. Also I have never won the Presidents Cup. I am very proud of each and everyone of you."
Then we started to to line up on the blue, the announcer announce our name and we took a picture with the president of the organization. After we took a picture with him, the whole team lined up and took a picture with all the staff members with our banner that said, "Division One Champions." The season went by so fast that we all just realized that today was the last day we were all going to see each other as a team.
Finally everybody went home cheering and everybody also got a trophy and says "Farewell" to all of our teammates and coaches. That was the last day that we were together as a Northern Express Hockey team.

Field Trips

The most memorable moment for me when I went to the field trip was when we went to Camp McClain last year in seventh grade. We did fun activities such as archery, rick climbing, and team building. The most exciting one was the archery because we could challenge our friends to who can get a bulls eye first. But our accuracy sucks. So it took us a while to get it.
When it was time for breakfast and lunch, the food was amazing. We ate like grilled cheese, salad, and tacos. We also had pop such as sprite and coke to drink.
Next at the end of the day we played capture the flag. There was two teams. Team Yellow and Team Orange. I was on team orange with a couple of my friends. Then finally Joey apprehended the Yellows team flag, but people on then other team said they tagged him, but he didn't get out. I didn't see what happened so I didn't know if someone actually tagged him or they're just saying that so they wouldn't lose.
Finally we went back to our cabin and we brushed our teeth and started to talk and hang out. We were probably up till 2 am and finally Mr. Carris told us to go to bed. It was a fun day and can't wait till the next day.

Diary Blog Post (Hockey Championship)

March 6, 2016

Dear Diary,

Today is our championship game. We are currently seeded as number one is the league. I arrived 45 minutes before our game, and everybody on my team was already there dressed into their jerseys.

It was 3 o'clock, and the manager from the NIHL Wolves Cup came in to our locker room to escort us to the bleachers. We headed to the entrance of the ice and we were given roses to give to our mother's when the announcer announces your name.

After we gone through everybody on our team and the other team we had to stand on the blue line to listen to the Star Spangled Banner as someone sings. When the Star Spangled Banner was over to started to warm up before our game.

The puck drops and we are going at it. We were 5 minutes into the period and one of our player scored the first goal for us. We are up 1-0. Few minutes later our captain won the face off and skated into the zone and he dangled two defense man and shot it glove side and scored a amazing goal.

Second period started and we scored right off the face off again. But the team answered right back to score a goal. It was 3-1. We were still in this. Last time we played this team, we let up and they were able to score a goal with only 12 seconds let in the period and tied the game. Our coach said "Don't let up again and don't let these guys get into your heads."

Third period began and we were 12 minutes into the period. Then it was 30 seconds, then it was 10 seconds, 5,4,3,2,1. We threw our helmets, gloves, and stick into the air and skated to our goalie and hugged him so hard that he couldn't even breathe. We just won the championship! We received a 1st place banner and we took a team photo. That was the best day of my life.

Erika Quotation

We must live, and when this is all over, we must work to make the world a better place.  And if we die, we will die knowing that it was not our fault, that we did our best, and we can go to our deaths in dignity… I want you both to live…And to remember...You must choose love.  Always choose love.”

(from Daniel’s Story by Carol Matas, page 70)

Last year my great grandmother just passed away. She was 99 years old. My dad loved his grandma and he had to go to her funeral in California. Unfortunately my mom and I couldn't go, but my dad loved his grandma and was able to go. My dad was gone for about three to four weeks to California and he probably hadn't seen his brothers, sisters and his parents for over six years or so. The last time my dad met his family member was when my parents and I went to his sisters wedding six years ago.
My dad was gone for about four weeks and he was able to bond with his family members. When he was in California he lived with his brother, and till this day my dad talks to his brothers and sisters everyday on the phone. My dad's planning to go to California again this summer for a couple weeks just for vacation and to meet his family members again.

NIHL Wolves Cup (Hockey Tournament/ Playoffs)

The Wolves Cup is a playoff tournament and your playing for a division title. Our team is currently the number one seed, and we have also won The President's Cup Banner for having the best record in our division. We just played a sixteen seed team and a ninth seed team, and we beat them 6-1 and
6-3. We also just played a fourth seed team in the semi finals. The score was 4-0. Heading to this weekend, we would be playing the seventh seed team in the championship game. Before the game, there is going to be an announcer to announce your name and you would be able to give flowers to your parents. Our team is pumped for our championship game and we are hoping to get first place in the playoffs.
